"All About Jazz" is a jazz appreciation class with emphasis on history, harmony, theory, and basic improvisation techniques.  Students will be exposed to the exciting jazz tradition through videos, interviews, classic albums, and demonstrations. No prior knowledge is required! 

We will enjoy and study the music of such greats as Art Tatum, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Jelly-Roll Morton, Clifford Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, and many more! 

"All About Jazz" offers a survey of the 20th-century and explores the stories of musicians from the swing, be-bop, cool jazz, post-bop, and modern eras.  There are lessons on Latin jazz, European jazz, piano jazz, vocal jazz, and much more!"
